ToThe President of the Hellenic Parliament

Sincelast autumn, understanding that the governmental effort regarding the economicrectification and deep change of the country was showing visible signs ofdecline, I put forward, in public, the aspect that the formation of a NationalFront of Responsibility with Consent, was necessary, so that the reformatoryplan could be continued with the requested power. I had repeatedly emphasizedthe aspect that "the solution will be national or will not be at all".

Theleaderships of the two political parties in power, did not want to be engagedseriously in this aspect of national matters.

Thegovernment, particularly after fall, using wrong choices in economy and in theState, with weakness in planning, with visible uneven and unfair distributionof weights and unheard inefficiency, was driven rapidly to reformativedistress. This failure gave to the rivals of the radical reformations argumentsto phrase against the so necessary to the country context of sections for thestate, for the economy and for the political system. To libel with populism anyattempt of change of the parasite model to a productive pattern. New Democracy(ND) with unheard, regarding the physiognomy for a conservative party in power, choices and following the worst model of opposition, invest in deterioration ofthe Government, achieving the danger of distruction.

Theculmination of the national crisis in the political level, the weakness ofbasic communication of the political parties and the mass express ofindignation of the citizens for the economic and political bankruptcy incombination with the confusion that an irresponsible and demagogic word canbring the country closer to an incalculable damage.

Theone-party efforts, even with persons of width acceptance are unable to bring tocompletion the today's difficult task. Meanwhile, elections, although they arean invariable and irreplaceable democratic channel, in this particular periodthey carry a serious danger for the economic being of this country.

Thelast days, some initiatives for national understanding, so that politicalstability will occur, gave the impression that this would be achieved. In thisdirection only one transitional form of national salvation could contribute, with the necessary participation of the two basic political powers of thecountry.

Theabsolutely specific duties of this form could be:

1.       The ensuring of the immediateFinance of the country

2.       The effort of bringing up again the"Greek Issue" in communication with the European members.

3.       The restoration of the democraticorder and a solid society

4.       The preparation of terms for theconstitutional revision, also the immediate legislation for the strengtheningand thorough examination of the Democracy

5.      Electionsin time considering to be appropriate from the basic political powers.

Unfortunately, the leaderships ofthe two basic political parties turned out not to be equal to the nationalcircumstances, with an unforgivable political way. Instead of the NationalAlarm, the mentality of the political pretences, of the ulterior calculationsand in-party pressures, prevailed in the end.

There was no worse way to certifythe end of a worn out and past political system.

I honor our movement and ourstraggles but in this particular marginal time for the country, the NationalDept was beaten from the leading and party interest.

So, with absolute conscience of thegravity of these moments I send in my resignation from a member of Parliament.
